Further development of quality management in the automotive industry

In the automotive industry, due to ever shorter development times, project diversity and the increase in outsourcing and globalization, intensive collaboration between customers and suppliers along the entire supply chain is crucial.

Quality of our products as key factor for automotive industry

With the rising level of quality, quality management in the automotive industry must also be constantly developed.

That is why we - the Plöckl Media Group GmbH - have made it our business to take care of these production process and product releases for you.

The quality of our products is a key factor for business success in the automotive industry. Manufacturers and suppliers have continued to raise the quality level of new automobiles in recent years - despite greater complexity, shorter development cycles and greater model diversity. At the same time, warranty and guarantee periods have been extended to offer customers even greater reliability.

Leading manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive industry, which we are also proud to count among our customers, have participated in the development of the process flows.

Production process and product release (PPF) procedure

Procedures such as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) or PPF (Production Process and Product Approval from the VDA) create clear conditions as to how the supplier completely proves the quality of its processes and products.
The PPF procedure is subdivided into the approval of the processes for the production and those for the transport of the products as well as the product approval.
The submission of the documents accompanying the processes and products, as well as the samples for product release, is called sampling (to the customer).

Sample for PPF release. What is meant by initial sample inspection report?

For the release of the production of a product, the required parameters and values must be proven to the customer. For this purpose, a full measurement is carried out on a part manufactured under series conditions and the target and actual values are documented in a report. This protocol is created according to DIN EN 9102, VDA or your specifications and is called initial sample test report. Initial samples are products and materials which are manufactured completely with series-production equipment under series-production conditions as part of the PPF.

What is a cover sheet sampling?

In production and manufacturing technology, as well as in the associated quality management, sampling is the testing of components or finished products for compliance with specified properties.

Who prepares an initial sample test report?

For this purpose, a full measurement is carried out on the basis of a part produced under series conditions, and the target and actual values are documented in a report.

All data requested by the customer are checked in the initial sample test report, thus proving the series production capability.

The result is a comprehensible, unambiguous verification document.
