Permanent Identification for Industrial Reusable Systems

PMG 8132 RFID-Label

The PMG 8132 RFID Label is a solution for the unique and automated identification of reusable containers and reusable beverage crates in industrial circular systems.

It enables seamless item-level traceability throughout the entire supply chain, supporting the digitalization of reusable packaging processes in filling, logistics, and retail environments. The solution is designed for integration into existing reusable systems and supports the requirements of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation 2025/40 (PPWR) regarding serialized identification and digital traceability.

The PMG 8132 RFID Label enables reliable, automated identification of reusable containers and beverage crates without line-of-sight requirements. It supports bulk reading of multiple pallets at RFID gates and is designed for flexible integration into crate sidewalls or internal crate structures. The label ensures reliable performance in industrial reusable systems for both filled and empty goods.

Using the PMG 8132 RFID label allows for more efficient management of reusable systems.

  • Reduction of crate losses through unique identification
  • Improved transparency in the reusable crate cycle
  • Automated tracking of crate cycles
  • Reduction of manual scanning processes
  • More efficient return and logistics processes
  • Optimized real-time inventory management

The PMG 8132 complies with the requirements of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

In particular, the label enables:

  • serial identification of reusable packaging
  • digital traceability at the item level
  • documented circulation and recycling processes

This makes the system suitable for use in compliant reusable packaging systems in Europe.

The RFID label is used for the serialized identification of reusable bottle crates.

Typical Applications

The PMG 8132 RFID label is used for serialized identification and digital traceability of reusable bottle crates in industrial reusable systems.

  • Filling and Production Facilities:
In a production environment, the label enables the automatic identification of reusable bottle crates and containers directly during filling and as they leave the facility.
  • Warehouse and distribution centers:
In intralogistics, the RFID label ensures fast and automated tracking of reusable containers during goods receipt and shipment, as well as for inventory management.
  • Transport and logistics processes:
During transport, the system enables the unique identification and tracking of container cycles via RFID gates and mobile tracking systems.
  • Retail and Return Systems:
In retail and return processes, the label supports the automatic tracking of empties and the transparent management of reusable container cycles.

Award

The PMG 8132 RFID label was awarded the 2026 Reusable Packaging Innovation Award.
The award recognizes innovative solutions for the digitization and optimization of reusable packaging systems and highlights the
RFID label’s contribution to the development of efficient, transparent, and PPWR-compliant circular processes.
